The AM-VB002 combines an VGA-format, single-chip camera CMOS active-pixel digital image sensor. The sensor consists of 640 x 480 effective pixels which meet with 1/4 inch optical format. The COMS image sensor (CIS) has on-chip 10-bit ADC arrays to digitize the pixel output and also on-chip Correlated Double Sampling (CDS) to reduce Fixed Pattern Noise (FPN) drastically. The ISP performs sophisticated image processing functions including color interpolation and correction, lens shading correction, edge enhancement, gamma correction, image scaling, auto exposure (AE), auto white balance (AWB), auto flicker correction, auto defect correction, and auto black level calibration. The AE and AWB functions are performed by an embedded RISC processor which uses to run built-in these sophisticated algorithms.
The AM-VB002 supports USB2.0 standard with its highly recognized self-developed USB high-speed transceiver. It integrates a highly flexible sensor interface to make it easily adopted with variety sensors in which include most popular CCD sensor module and CMOS sensors. The low power consumption, low operation temperature characteristic also make it is easy to implement a high quality PC Camera without worrying about the noise signals of sensors to affect by high performance USB controller.
